Libertarians and voluntaryists tend to think using a heuristic approach. That is, we have conceptions tested and built upon historical events and scientific lessons that we provisionally apply to events as they're happening. Why?

Because the fact is, when the news is breaking, we rarely have all the facts but still need to know how to act. On top of that, the breaking news is frequently false. Worst of all, we know politicians will feel pressure to act, right now, even before relevant facts arrive.
