Who are the left-statists and right-statists?

Left-Statists and Right-Statists

Libertarians observe that so-called liberals, conservatives, neo-cons, social conservatives, socialists, and progressives all share something in common. They all want to initiate force to achieve their goals. But initiated force is inherently…

  • Illiberal
  • Non-conservative
  • Anti-social
  • Regressive, not progressive

Honest labels would describe what these groups really represent. They all advocate different forms of statism. Thus, it would be more honest to call them…

Left-statists and Right-statists

  • So-called liberals, progressives, and socialists, are Left-statists
  • So-called conservatives, neo-cons, and social conservatives are Right-statists

By comparison, libertarians believe governments must obey the Zero Aggression Principle. Governments must not initiate force. They must only use force defensively.

  1. This is not just a problem for conservatives and liberals. There are those who claim ‘fiscal conservatism and social liberalism’ and then try to come off as libertarians. They will often show their ‘true colors’ in a debate format, however.(for example, denying the right to freedom of association because we prefer to honor a chosen lifestyle) I love the principles of the Libertarian Party, but I could not in good conscience support a ‘LINO’ that was closer to a ‘left statist’ , especially when we just had a left statist in office for eight years. So abstained from voting for any of the three. My conscience is clear, and I may yet change my party affiliation, especially since Trump can be presumed to be the nominee for the RNC.

  2. How will this zero-aggression government fund itself? Through voluntary donations?

Yes. That would give us consumer controlled government. That’s the only way to actually regulate the government.
